 Autumn Warmth...

Autumn arrived today;
crimson and gold abounds,
the summer's yield emblazoned,
maples' glory crowned.
Stalks of gold line the fields,
the harvest they attest,
the eve of a long-awaited celebration,
the world once again blessed.
Blue jays and robins abandon their nests,
preparing for a long flight ahead.
Gracefully they soar over hills and plains,
by the monarch led.
Cool winds hail from the north
to scatter fallen leaves.
Fires are started and stoked,
flames of the holiday spirit rekindled.
Something great is on the way,
the whole world wisely believes;
for the season of love has begun,
bearing hope and goodwill for man.
There's no escape from the excitement,
no way to evade the inner warmth autumn bears,
because it's all part of God's plan.

"Autumn Warmth," written and designed by Bobette Bryan, 2000
