dark sky above
that costumes brighten;
above doorways to frighten.
Ghosts and goblins,
are ready to prowl.
They venture into the darkness.
Did you hear the werewolf howl?
Witches crowned with pointed hats
ride the midnight sky on brooms;
black cats in tow,
thrive beneath the autumn gloom.
Jack-o-lanterns carved just right
sightless eyes watching,
they light the way gladly...
