You're a hero--
America's best.
You stood strong and proud,
and you knew no rest
as you fought for liberty.
You're among the courageous
who saved the day.
You were willing to sacrifice
everything,
and hold your own dreams at bay.
Still, you were determined to
give your country your all
and remained dedicated and brave
when you heard duty call.
And perhaps a thank you,
is long overdue,
