Dad,
As a child you were the one I adored,
Whatever you said I just couldn't ignore,

Every little step I took at teen age,
Was guided by you- each a lovely page,

When I chose my career later
You stood by me- anxious to see me smarter...

Two hands and a heart crossed in prayer
When I chose myself a partner...

Dad,
Your special lessons were on how to forgive,
You taught me Life and how to live...

You brought me into this world
And taught me that love cannot be bought or sold...

that wrongs can't be undone by a sword
but by a gentle, healing and kindly word...

Dad,
At each stage you were my mentor
Someone so very dear- so much a rare treasure...

All my life I've prayed for nothing better
Than a dad like you and none sweeter...
