A Soul Flies Free

This soul has left our weary world
To go to be with God on high
It flies now on wings of white
Amongst the cloud that dot the sky.
No longer does it know the feelings
Of happiness or of strife
No longer is it burdened
By the turmoils of this life.
But though this soul has homeward gone
And of this life is no more a part
It never will be truly gone
As long as we keep it in our heart.
How we will sorely miss this soul
But within our hearts one bright hope beats
Once again we will be together
When we too walk those heavenly streets.
So let your heart be comforted in knowing
As long as you keep the memories in your heart
Of your life and future
This soul will always be a part.
