Cottage For Two...

"In Memory of Elvis" (1/8/35 - 8/16/77)

I'd love to spend my days
in a dream cottage for two,
wrapped up in the paradise
of loving you.

Nothing in the world
can compare to the bliss
that warms my soul
when I imagine your kiss.

I dream of making love to you
before the fire,
for you're all I want,
my heart's greatest desire.

And there's nothing
that I'd rather do,
than dedicate my life
to loving you.

~ ~ ~

ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT
DO YOU MISS ME TONIGHT
ARE YOU SORRY WE DRIFTED APART?

DOES YOUR MEMORY STRAIN
TO A BRIGHT SUMMERS DAY
WHEN I KISSED YOU
AND CALLED YOU SWEETHEART?

DOES THE CHAIR IN THE PARLOR
SEEM EMPTY AND BARE
DO YOU GAZE AT YOUR DOORSTEP
AND PICTURE ME THERE?

IS YOUR HEART FILLED WITH PAIN
SHALL I COME BACK AGAIN
TELL ME DEAR, ARE YOU
LONESOME TONIGHT?

~ ~ ~

ELVIS LIVES!

He lives in our hearts ~ in our memories
In his many songs and movies

was it because the girls shrieked
when he moved his hips?

Or was it because we felt (or hoped)
That he genuinely cared?

Maybe it was those stories about
How generous he was with
His time and money and personality?

Maybe it was that he was so
Misunderstood
By the older generation?

And maybe it was all of the above?

But if you really want to know
The answer
To this question ~
Listen, really listen,
To this beautiful ballad
And imagine "HIM" standing there
