Winter Calls...

When the pale aspens
stand stalwartly beneath
a snowy sky,
and the glistening firs
hail them nearby,
I'll think about you.

When icicles hang from
every roof and fence,
and the midnight stars
become more intense,
I'll remember you.

When the world is wrapped
in a frosty haze,
and winter's sapphire beauty
is held in praise,
I'll wish the best for you.

When the wind bemoans
the bitter cold,
and from the hearth
streams a wealth of gold,
I'll wish you were here with me.
