Pain In Your Heart...

It happened yesterday;
powerful gales clawed at the roof,
and rain fell mercilessly,
flooding your windows.
You couldn't see out.
You were locked in,
heart and soul bound.
The pain in your heart grew
beneath the weight of the storm,
and you began to think
that you'd lost it all.
But the storm died away,
and the birds sang
to welcome a new day.
And now you can open the windows
and let the sunshine stream in
to warm and heal you.
It's time to let the beauty
of the present
and hope for tomorrow
free your soul.
Because "it" happened yesterday,
and the past can't hurt you now!

"Pain In Your Heart," written and designed by Bobette Bryan, 2002
