Today Is a Gift...

Nothing will ever
be as it is now.
Even the sky changes
as the clouds dart by.
And the familiar fields
of summer turn brown
when a harvest moon
calls the first snow.
Sparrows leave their nests
in search of warmth
when the autumn leaves fall,
and in the spring,
new blossoms
will grace the meadows
and flower beds.
Enjoy what you
have now.
Don't take the present
for granted;
for you can never have
today's gift again.

"Today Is a Gift," written and designed by Bobette Bryan, 2002
