I'll Wait...

The night lights a fire
that glows in every valley,
the day's warmth to keep,
sinking between the hills
and shimmering across the deep...

Yet for me the night
shall never grow late.

Below the hills where
silver water flows,
the night calls a million stars
that are twice as bright
as the falling snow...

Yet for me the night
shall never grow late.

Midnight frosts the evergreens;
silver clings to every tip,
reminding me of the promises
that hung on your lips.

Yet for me the night
shall never grow late.

I hear a distant baying
beneath the splendid moon,
where the night creatures circle,
lonely hearts in tune.

Yet for me the night
shall never grow late;
beneath the lover's moon,
my heart will wait.
