We seek far horizons.
We journey forth
for fortune and fame
and sometimes when
we get there,
we forget why we came.
And then we start
searching for a
greater truth,
and find our minds retracing
the days of our youth.
Then we realize
that though
we were so quick
to get away,
those long ago times
were our greatest days.
And all of the old
places we knew,
and the faces that
we held dear
only became more
precious with
each passing year.
