It wasn't the sun that made
a gray sky blue that day;
it wasn't the wind that carried
the dust and smoke away;
it wasn't the President;
or the congress as a whole,
but the heroes of ground zero
who mended a nation's soul.
God bless America's heroes:
New York's finest,
New York's bravest,
all of the volunteers
and other unsung heroes
who relieved suffering
during the 9-11 tragedy.
We salute you!
"Heroes of Ground Zero," Written and designed by Bobette Bryan, 2002
