A Mad Man...

In ancient times,
in our time,
in all times,
there has always been
a Sadam Hussein,
a mad man
of ignoble power,
whose honor
wanes fast beneath
the unfurled flag
in a place
where justice is lost
in curls of smoke
and canon fire mutes
the children's cries.
Through these
great clouds,
may God lead us
to freedom,
and still
the anguish
in the hearts
of mothers.
And may we pray
for peace
for all times
with a voice
that can never
be silenced.
